Kerala sadhya is the traditional food of Kerala people , it is one of the significant part of traditional Kerala festival onam. traditional Kerala sadhya consisting of variety of vegetarian dishes usually served in a banana leaf as lunch. sadhya is one of the most special thing that cannot be avoid in hindu marriage, Kerala people always follow ritual style to eat sadhya. the items included in sadhya is plain boiled rice , with various dishes collectively known as ‘kootan ‘ , it includes paripp, gee,samabar, rasam, pulisseri, avail, thoran , olan, pachadi, kichadi, different pickles like mango and lime , puliingi,pappadam , chips , sarkara upperi, banana,buttermilk, and finally payasam , usually 2 or moretypes of payasam such as palada, ada pradhaman, parippu pradhaman, gothambu pradhaman etc,
1. Idli with sambar and chutney (Idli is savory soft cake made by steaming a batter consisting of fermented black lentils (de-husked) and rice.)
2. Dosa with sambar and chutney (dosa is a fermented pancake made from rice batter and black lentils. It is indigenous to and is a staple dish in the southIndia)
3. Masala Dosa with sambar and chutney (A masala dosa is made by stuffing a dosa with a lightly cooked filling of potatoes, fried onions and spices.)
4. Appam with egg roast/vegetable stew (appam is a dish of fermented bread made with rice batter and coconut milk.)
5. Idiyappam with egg roast/vegetable stew (Idiyappam or string hoppers is a traditional food consisting of rice flour pressed into noodle)
6. Puttu and kadala (Puttu is basically steamed and soft rice flour served with kadala curry which is Bengal gram curry. )
7. Puri masala (A dough of flour in a small circle is and deep fried in vegetable oil served with mixed vegetables and kerala spices)
8. Upma with ghee,banana and sugar/kadala curry/egg roast (is a common South Indian breakfast dish, cooked as a thick porridge from dry roasted semolina. Various seasonings and/or vegetables are also added)
